Meet Our Staff
Dr. Leonardo "Leo" Mendoza
Medical Director & Founder
Dr. Mendoza was born in Ohio and moved to Tucson back in 1979. A proud graduate of University High School and the University of Arizona. He spent years working as an optician and a researcher for an NIH-funded project in Japan before starting his medical journey at 32. He finished his residency a year ahead of schedule at the Medical College of Ohio and later studied acupuncture at Harvard, bringing a rich diversity of experience to his clinical practice.
He has been practicing medicine in Tucson for over 20 years. His goal is to help people to be as active and independent as possible as they age, as well as recover from injury or surgery at any age. He's always been against the use of chemicals to treat problems, but prefers to teach people maneuvers to fix their problems when possible instead.
Karla Meddelin, LPN
LPN & Office Manager
Karla is a Licensed Practical Nurse, originally from Nogales and raised in Los Angeles. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. When she returned to Arizona in 1986, she attended Pima Community College.
Karla has extensive nursing experience in many different fields of study. She has a personal commitment to quality patient care that includes emphasizing comprehensive patient and family education, appropriate team based medical care, and an uncompromising duty to care for those in need.

Consult with Dr. Leonardo Mendoza on your individual wellness goals. From there you can work together to try to optimize a program of nutritional and mental approaches, as well as possible treatments or therapies, to help maintain physical function.
Exam typically takes 1 hour to cover full medical history, medications, and goals.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture treatments for a variety of areas and ailments.
Custom tailored by Dr. Mendoza based on your needs and goals.
Acupuncture is very good for musculoskeletal complaints, but a whole host of complaints can be addressed with it as well. The technique studied by Dr. Mendoza is a Japanese style, which address energy flows in the body prior to addressing a particular issue. He has been shown to have success with treating anxiety with acupuncture as well.
Typically takes 30 minutes to 1 hour for full process.

A body contouring procedure that simultaneously burns fat and builds muscle.

Medication Assisted Weight Loss
Once weekly injectable medications (Semaglutide or Tirzepatide) given for weight loss and diabetes management, by improving blood sugar and reducing appetite.
